On December 18th, 2020, the awards of the 2020 College Film and Television Works and Papers Sharing and Screening event were announced. As a result of the active participation of the students from the School of Journalism and Communication, SCUT, all the 4 works selected by the school submitted to the event have won important awards!
The 2020 College Film and Television Works and Papers Sharing and Screening event is hosted by the College Television Professional Committee of China Educational Television Association. Since its launch in November 2020, a total of 974 film and television works have been submitted from 104 colleges and universities, including 175 news-related works. 175 works of ministry, special subject, 125 documentaries, 81 teaching, 151 school image propaganda films, 267 short videos, and 37 papers have been received. The School of Journalism and Communication, SCUT has achieved great results. All 4 submitted works won awards, including 2 works in the first category, 2 works in the third category, and 1 work won the outstanding work on the theme of anti-pandemic”.
Among the selected works, the documentary Guangdong Film: Back Shadow completed by Zhang Jiandong, Wang Pan, Guo Wenling and other students tells the story of the rise, glory and decline of Guangdong films during the time of the Republic of China. Employing character interview and field shooting, combined with many historical materials, the film uses images to show the dusty history of Guangdong films.

Ji Sicen and Li Huiwen's work The Worry-Relieving Wig Shop truly records the story of a wig shop owner in the form of a documentary, telling the life and death, sorrow and joy in a small wig shop.

The documentary Behind the Praise: The Occupational Dilemma of Medical Staff, co-produced by Pu Yunsha, Li Ruihong, Li Hanqing and other students, is presented in the form of a data visualization video. Against the background of anti-pandemic combat, it takes the opportunity to call on the public to pay attention to the professional problems faced by medical staff, making efforts to improve the doctor-patient relationship.

The documentary The Academic Road to a Well-off Society by Fang Qingying vividly tells the story of Professor Qu Jinping, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and shows the responsibilities and responsibilities of Chinese scientists in the new era.
