On the afternoon of January 23rd, South China University of Technology and Tianhe District held a signing ceremony, the two sides will jointly construct Tianhe hospital affiliated to South China University of science and Technology ( the Second People's Hospital of Tianhe District).As the ninth “third grade” hospital, it will be built into a scientific, research and a modern public non-profit “third grade” comprehensive hospital.
The Tianhe Hospital Affiliated to South China University of Technology (Tianhe District Second People's Hospital) is formally signed.

The hospital is located on the south of Guangshan Road, north to Gaotang software park in Tianhe District ,in Kemu Langgui area. The region will gather numerous high-end information service enterprises, and the population will exceed 300 thousand, and the demand of medical service is increasingly urgent.The hospital plan to cover 87.23 acres, a total construction area of about 200 thousand square meters, 1000 beds for patients , including outpatient, inpatient, medical skill, teaching, scientific research, office and parking lot, etc.
According to Huang Kaixuan, the project innovatively adopts the new cooperation mode established by district and school, and it is the affiliated hospital directly under the South China University of Technology. The Tianhe District government is responsible for the hospital construction, land acquisition, hospitals’ building and supporting infrastructure, while,South China University of Technology is responsible for hospital operation, team building.
