报告人简介:

王永昌教授,在1984年获得西南交通大学的本科学位,于1985年获得英国文化协会奖学金前往英国谢菲尔德大学攻读博士学位,并在1988年获得了结构工程博士学位。在进行了一段时间的博士后研究之后,他加入了英国建筑研究院(Building Research Establishment, BRE)担任高级研究工程师,后于1997年加入曼彻斯特大学担任高级讲师,自2009年起担任曼彻斯特大学的讲席教授。他专攻火灾中的结构响应,曾是多个英国标准和欧洲标准委员会的成员,研究方向涉及消防安全以及钢和组合结构,是该领域的世界知名领导者。近年来,他针对结构构件再利用的问题,开展了建筑循环经济的研究,并于2019年在曼彻斯特大学主持了第一届建筑循环经济国际会议。王教授作为欧盟“地平线欧洲”项目RECONMATIC(www.reconmatic.eu)的合作伙伴,同时作为指导委员会的成员和分包项目3的负责人,负责开发用于建筑寿命末期的数字工具。

After graduating with B.Eng from South WestJiao Tong University in 1984, Professor Wang obtained a British CouncilScholarship to pursue PhD study at the University of Sheffield, UK, in 1985 andearned his PhD in Structural Engineering in 1988. After a brief period of post-doctoralresearch, he joined the UK’s Building Research Establishment as a seniorresearch engineer before leaving the BRE to join the University of Manchesteras a Senior Lecturer in 1997. He has been a Chair Professor at the Universityof Manchester since 2009. His specialises in structural behaviour in fire andhe is an established international leader in this field. He has been a memberof a number of British Standards and European Standards committees on firesafety and steel and composite structures. More recently, he has developed anew research interest in construction circular economy, with particular focuson structural member reuse. He hosted the first International Conference onConstruction Circular Economy at the University of Manchester in 2019. He is apartner of the Horizon Europe project RECONMATIC (www.reconmatic.eu) where heis a member of the steering committee and is the leader of Work Package 3 ofthe project, responsible for developing digital tools for end of service lifebuildings.

 

报告摘要:

建筑业消耗着大量资源,是碳排放的主要来源。因此,有效降低碳排放的策略是需要解决建筑结构中巨大的隐形碳排放问题。在结构工程中,循环经济原则是解决该问题的最佳途径,其中结构构件的再利用是核心抓手。本报告将科学阐述结构再利用的必要性,并详细介绍相关技术的最新进展,包括可拆卸复合梁的静力性能和耐火性能、从现有复合结构中回收钢构件的方法、钢结构再利用的科学指南以及拆除前的数字审计模型,这些研究内容将推动钢结构和钢-混凝土结构构件的再利用。由于当前的建筑模式基于“新资源获取 - 新产品使用 - 处置 - 回收”的单向线性经济概念,需要进行范式转变来优化建筑行业的生产、供应、应用等做法,即在结构的每个阶段都考虑结构再利用。基于该领域先驱的研究经验,推动建筑行业向结构再利用转型仍然面临许多挑战,同时结构再利用在建筑业市场中占有很小的份额。因此,本报告将展示如何克服这些障碍和挑战,希望能激发各位学者的思考和讨论,推动结构再利用的发展。

The construction industry uses largeamounts of resources and is one of the largest carbon emitters. Any meaningfuldecarbonization strategy should include effective methods of tackling theenormous amount of embedded carbon in structures. Adopting circular economyprinciples in structural engineering is considered the best approach, in which reuseof structures must be a key pillar. After reinforcing the imperative ofstructural reuse, this presentation reports details of some recenttechnological developments that enable reuse of steel and steel-concretestructural members, including static and fire resistance performance ofdemountable composite beams, methods of reclaiming steel sections from existingcomposite structures, steel structural reuse guidance, and development ofdigital models for pre-demolition audit. Since the current construction modelis based on the linear economy concept of “new resource extraction – newproducts in use – disposal – recycling”, a paradigm shift is needed to changethe construction industry practice in which structural reuse is considered inevery stage of the structure. This transition faces many barriers andchallenges. Based on experiences of pioneers in structural reuse, thispresentation will demonstrate how such barriers and challenges may be overcome.Structural reuse currently occupies a tiny market of the construction industry.Therefore, the main aim of this presentation is to promote structural reuse,and it is hoped that this presentation will stimulate ideas and discussions.
