More Care for Left-behind Children
Release Time:2014-04-11         Page Views:         Unit:

Dear foreign teachers and international scholars,

The International Office is planning on a one-day schooling-assistance activity for Qunlian Primary School, which is located in a village below the provincial poverty line with 4.5 hour drive from Guangzhou. The purpose of this activity is to help international scholars know more about China’s vast rural area, and at the same time to provide more care for the left-behind children there.

Qunlian Primary School has 74 students in 4 classes from pre-school to third grade. Most of the kids lack contact with the outside world and have hardly any access to foreign teachers.

Therefore, through this trek, we would like to bring a window of the world to them by inviting our foreign scholars to give them an introductory English class. Foreign scholars are free to organize teaching activities, but please keep in mind that these kids might be too shy or have too limited English to open their mouths. The International Office will cover your printing, copying, or other necessary expanses.

Time: 7:10am-20:00pm, Friday, April 11, 2014

Venue: Qunlian Primary School, Qunlian Village, Heyuan

Host Units: International Office

If you are interested in this activity, please sign up by calling or emailing us before April 4.
