On November 24, 2021, the fourth inspection team in the fourth round of the Party committee of SCUT gave feedback on the inspection situation to the Party committee of the School of Environment and Energy according to the unified deployment of the Party committee of the University. Tao Shaojing, deputy secretary of the Party committee and deputy leader of the inspection leading group, attended the meeting and put forward requirements for the inspection work. Wang Jun, member of the Standing Committee of the Party committee of the University and leader of the fourth inspection team, delivered feedback on the inspection to the leading group and members of the school respectively. Chen Hangyu, Secretary of the Party committee of the school, made a statement at the feedback meeting, and Dean Ye Daiqi presided over the meeting.

From September 27 to October 29, 2021, the fourth inspection team inspected the Party committee of the School of Environment and Energy. With Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as guidance, the team implemented the guidelines for inspection work of central government, upheld the positioning of political inspection function. With the “two maintenances” as the fundamental task, the team served for the overall situation, focus on the overarching goal and responsibility. The team followed closely on the leadership of the school and the urgent concerns of the staff and students, and strengthened the political supervision. The team paid more attention on the implementation of the party's theories, guidelines, principles and policies, as well as the major decisions and arrangements of the Ministry of Education, Guangdong Province and the University. The team implemented the strategic deployment of comprehensively and strictly administering the party, the Party's organizational guideline in the new era, and the rectification of the problems in inspection, audit and thematic education. With the active support and assistance from the Party committee, teachers and students of the school, the inspection team successfully finished the task. During the inspection, the team held a leadership meeting and mobilization meeting, listened to the work report, carried out questionnaire survey, had individual conversations with cadres and the masses, accepted letters and reports, read relevant documents, randomly checked and verified the relevant situation, visited relevant departments and units, and had an in-depth understanding of the key problems found in the inspection. On November 22, 2021, the Party committee of the University listened to the report of the inspection of the Party committee of the school, and put forward clear requirements for the rectification work.

In his feedback, Wang Jun pointed out that since July 2017, the Party committee of the school has continuously strengthened the implementation of the "four awareness” the "four self-confidence", achieved the "two maintenance", and united and led teachers and students to achieve new results. Problems have been found in the inspection, including: insufficient learning and implementation of the important discussions on education and ecological civilization construction by General Secretary Xi; gap in promoting high-quality development; insufficient ideological and theoretical preparation; weak combination of learning and application; gap in implementing the fundamental task of strengthening moral education and cultivating people; shortcomings in promoting the construction of "double first-class”; unbalanced and insufficient discipline development; insufficient internal governance of the school; weak links in preventing and resolving risks; weak links in the implementation of the strategic deployment of comprehensively and strictly administering the party; inadequate efforts to put the duty in place; unfulfillment of the implementation of the party's organizational guideline in the new era and the talent building.

The 6th Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee stressed the greatness of the party is not to become mistake-free, but not to conceal its fault for fear of criticism, to actively carry out self-criticism, dare to face problems directly and make self revolution, according to Tao Shaojing. She put forward clear requirements for the inspection and rectification work of the school. First, improve the political position, adhere to the problem orientation and seriously formulate rectification plan; Second, strengthen political awareness, make clear the main responsibility, and actively carry out centralized rectification; Third, enhance political consciousness, actively accept supervision and ensure the effectiveness of rectification. She hoped that the leading group of the school will take the opportunity of inspection and rectification to actively implement the rectification, unite and lead the teachers and students, work tenaciously and unremittingly, and make greater contributions to the implementation of the fundamental task of strengthening moral education and cultivating people and promoting the construction of "double first-class" in South China University of Technology!

For the problems that can be rectified in time, make sure they can be corrected as soon as the school aware of them, and ensure short-term results; For problems requiring long-term and continuous rectification, it is necessary to establish rules and regulations to ensure normal and long-term effect.
