At 9:30 a.m, July 16th, 2021, the School of Environment and Energy of South China University of Technology and Baowu Water Technology Co., Ltd. officially signed an agreement on collaboration between enterprises, universities and research institutes at Room 215, environment building in the campus.

Professor Wei Chaohai, director of the Division of Industrial Wastewater Treatment, presided over the signing ceremony. At the signing ceremony, vice president Dong Xiaodan first introduced the general situation of Baowu water from the aspects of the development, qualification and ability of Baowu water company, its great achievements in water treatment and future development, and said that Baowu’s in-depth cooperation with the School of Environment and Energy of South China University of Technology would jointly build an innovation system in the alliance between enterprises, universities and research institutes, further improve the practice and application level of scientific research technology from universities in the production site. In 2004, 2008 and 2020, Professor Wei Chaohai's team of SCUT implemented the engineering design of coking wastewater for Shaogang iron and steel, a subordinate unit of Baowu, and accumulated the cooperation foundation for new technological research and development. Professor Ye Daiqi also introduced the talent training platform and resources of the school from the perspectives of discipline development process, faculty construction, scientific research achievements and various engineering practices. Afterwards, under the principle of complementary advantages, win-win results, common development and improved impact, the two sides focused on the fields of difficult industrial wastewater treatment, conducted in-depth exchanges in terms of prospective technological innovation, tackling application in key technologies and high-end talent training, finally reached a consensus to stay committed to promoting scientific and technological innovation by enterprises, universities and research institutes, and carried out in-depth cooperation.

Finally, the dean of the school and Dong Xiaodan, member of the Party committee and deputy general manager of Baowu Water Technology Co., Ltd., jointly signed the Agreement on Collaboration Framework between Enterprises, Universities and Research Institutes .
