On the morning of January 14, 2019, Mr. Hu Jingguang, the president of the Macao Government Tourism Office, Mr. Huang Hui, the president of Macao Leisure and Tourism Service Innovation Association, and Lu lianjin, the chairman, were invited to SEC. They discussed talent training of tourism in Guangdong and Macao, service quality and innovation. The symposium was hosted by Deputy Dean Jiang Jinbo, Deputy Dean Wei Bingying, Associate Professor Pang Hua, the head of exhibition apartment, Dr. Gao Kechang, Dr. Yu Chuanpeng and other teachers attended.
In this symposium, Jiang Jinbo introduced the development of the discipline of tourism and foreign cooperation and exchanges in SEC. Hu Jingguang, Huang Hui and Lu Lianjin discussed following topics. First, taking the opportunity of Guangdong-HK-Macao Greater Bay Area to explore training cooperation of high-level talents in tourism industry, and strengthen exchanges and communication in Guangdong-Macao tourism. Second, discussing the standard of tourism services in order to promote tourism services in Greater Bay Area with advantages of Guangdong and Macao. Third, establishing experience index of tourism services and concluding successful experiences of Macao leisure and tourism so as to develop professional research, promotion and cooperation. Wei Bingying introduced the teachers and projects of training in SEC, and highlighted that they should take great advantage of school and discipline resources to deepen market and project cooperation with demands of Association fully considered. Jiang Jinbo mentioned that the two sides could use existing brands of Chinese and Foreign exhibition Class and Training Classes for National Exhibition Planner to expand their cooperation, strengthen the talent exchanges and training in Guangdong and Macao. In the meanwhile, from the perspective of academic research, they should study cases and successful experience patterns, and then learn from it and collaborate. It is considered that the study on experience index of tourism services embodies academic values, as well as practical meanings. Pang Hua, from the view of the cooperation between the school and enterprises, suggested short-term academic exchange activities to Macao, and sustainable and communication in professional classes, meetings and training. Gao Kechang and Yu Chuanpeng put forward their own ideas on Outside-School Practice Base and the conclusion of innovative cases of Macao leisure services.
Founded in October 2018, Macao Leisure and Tourism Service Innovation Association is a comprehensive tourism organization that combines culture, travel and leisure in Macao. Professor Jiang Jinbo was appointed as the executive vice president of the association, becoming the first vice president from the mainland higher education institute.
