[Biography]
(1)Dr. Ling Bai obtained his bachelor/doctoral degree from Southeast university in 2010/2015. Since Sep. 2015, he has been working as a postdocal researcher in Nanyang technological university. His reseach focus on bio-inspired functional photonic materials, especially the manufacturing and applications of MOF/Plasmonic amorphous photonic structures. He has published 9 SCI papers, including three papers in Adv. Mater., ACS Nano, Nanoscale as the first author.
(2)Dr. Min Hong received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Central South University in 2010 and obtained Ph.D. in Materials Engineering at The University of Queensland, Australia in 2016. Afterwards, he conducted one-year postdoctoral research at The University of Queensland. In 2017.10, he moves to Center for Future Materials, the University of Southern Queensland as a research fellow. His research interests are thermoelectric materials, electron microscope characterizations, and DFT calculations. He has published 32 SCI papers (first author: 11, and ESI highly cited paper: 1). His work on GeTe-based high-performance thermoelectric materials has been highlighted by Materials View China.
(3)Dr. Sha Li received her B.E. degree from Tianjin University in 2010, and her Ph.D. degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015. Now, she is a postdoc researcher at University of Delaware, working in Prof. Dion Vlachos’ lab. Through the years, she focuses on fundamental studies of heterogeneous catalytic reactions using quantum chemical simulations, especially, she’s interested in reactions during the biomass upgrading process. So far, she has published 7 SCI papers, including 4 first-author papers published in AIChE journal, Journal of Catalysis et al. The work “Catalytically active Au-O(OH)x- species stabilized by alkali ions on zeolites and mesoporous oxides” has received a lot of citations since publication in Science in 2014.
(4)Dr. Xiaowei Li received a B.Sci. in material chemistry in 2010 and a M.Sci. in material science in 2013 from Tianjin University, China. She received a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Hokkaido University, Japan in 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Kei Murakoshi. She then joined Hokkaido University as an assistant professor from 2016 October. Her research interests include plasmon-assisted photoelectrochemistry of nanoscale materials involving photoenergy conversion, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, light-matter interactions, and optical trapping. Dr. Li has published 1 book chapter and 9 internationally referred journal publications including Journal of Physical Chemistry C, Physical Chemistry Chemical Physic, Spectrochimica Acta Part A and Journal of Chromatography A as the first author. Dr. Li is a recipient of a number of prestigious awards including Grant-in-Aid for Young Scientists from MEXT, Japan in 2018, Best Oral Presentation Award by Japanese Photochemistry Association in 2017, AGS Fellowship at Hokkaido University in 2015 and 2016, Japanese Government Scholarship and Excellent Paper Awards for Graduates at Tianjin University in 2013.
(5)Dr. Bin Liu is now a Research Fellow in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, City University of Hong Kong (CityU), Hong Kong. He received a doctor’s degree from Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry (TIPC), Chinese Academy of Sciences, P.R China, in 2015, and the advisors are Prof. Chen-Ho Tung (academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences) and Prof. Li-Zhu Wu. Then he worked in the Center Of Super Diamond and Advanced Films (COSDAF), and Department of Physics and Materials Science, CityU, as a Senior Research Assistant, and a Senior Research Associate. His main research interests include the synthesis of functional nanomaterials and their electrochemical energy conversion (water electrolysis, fuel cells) and solar photochemical conversion (photoelectrochemical hydrogen production) applications, the construction of related catalytic interfaces and demonstration of reaction mechanism. As the first author, he has published 12 research articles in SCI journals (e.g., Adv. Mater., Energy Environ. Sci., ACS Nano, and Adv. Sci.). Among them, 10 are JCR 1 Top journals, 6 are impact factors >10. The paper published in Adv. Mater. is selected as the cover article and becomes the ESI Highly Cited Paper and Top 5 hot paper; the paper published in Energy Environ. Sci. is selected as the Front cover. In addition, 3 patents have been authorized. His works have also been reported many times by academic media “Advanced Science News (Wiley)”.
(6)Dr.Liu received his PhD degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with major in Materials Science and Engineering in 2015. His current research interests are mainly focusing on the design and synthesis of chiral gelators and control of supramolecular chirality of assemblies with unique structures and novel functions.To date,He has published more than 20 papers, including 7 papers as 1st author on the top journals such as JACS, Angewandte Chemie, ACS Nano, Chemi. Sci., Adv. Sci., and so on.
(7)Dr. Sibao Liu received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at Dalian University of Technology in 2009 and obtained Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry (Engineering) from Tohoku University, Japan in 2016. From 2016.09 to present, he is a postdoctoral researcher at Catalysis Center for Energy Innovation (CCEI), University of Delaware. His research interests are heterogeneous catalysis and biomass conversion. He has published 16 SCI papers (first author: 8, journal cover papers: 4, ESI highly cited papers: 2). His work on catalytic conversion of cellulose to hexane has been highlighted by C&EN.
(8)Dr. Zongfang Wu graduated from the Hubei University with a B. E. in 2009 and received her Ph. D. in the University of Science and Technology of China in 2014. Since March 2015, she has been working as an Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) fellow at the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society. Her research focuses on surface science and catalysis of model catalytic systems. Her publication record lists 26 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 10 as the first author.
(9)Dr Huaiyu Yang obtained Batcher, Master and PhD degree from Tianjin University at 2006 and KTH Royal Institute of Technology at 2008, respectively. From 2013 to 2018, he worked as research associate, and also lead a research project in GSK research center for seven months. He joined Loughborough University as a Lecturer/assistant professor from May 2018, working on crystallisation of protein and small organic molecules, and his expertise include crystallisation process control, nucleation theory, cocrystal, phase diagram, continuous crystallisation, nano-template assistant biocrystallisation and etc. He has published 17 SCI peer reviewed papers, inducing 3 in JCR 1 (Chinese Academy of Sciences) as first author, and two cover articles on CrystEngComm and Chemical Engineering Research and Design as first author.
(10)Dr.Da Zhao received his bachelor (2010) and PhD degree (2015) from Jilin University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, respectively. He conducted his postdoctoral research at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (07/2015-07/2016), Harvard University (08/2015-06/2017), and Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung(07/2017-present). His major research interest is Organic Chemistry, especially Organometallic Chemistry. He published 11 SCI articles as first author. He has been awarded with Springer Thesis Prize for his research on Reactivity Study of Carboryne Intermediates.
(11)Dr. Hui Zhou received her B.S. in Chemistry at China West Normal University in 2011 and obtained Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China in 2016. From 2016.09 to 2017.08, she is a postdoctoral researcher at Chemistry Department, Mississippi State University(USA). From 2017.09 to current, she is a postdoctoral researcher at Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung with Professor Benjamin. list (Germany), her research interests are heterogeneous catalysis and organocatalysis. She has published 10 SCI papers (first author: 6, journal cover paper.
