报告摘要:

天然多糖作为食品和药品中最丰富的成分,是人类碳水化合物和膳食纤维的主要来源。多糖除了营养功能外,还具有显著的生物活性和特殊的保健功效。多糖被广泛认为是保护和改善健康、预防和治疗常见疾病的最有前途的营养产品和治疗候选物。近20-30年来,人们尤其是中国学者对天然活性多糖的研究表呈现出指数级增长趋势。本报告将介绍生物活性多糖的当前研究开发的现状、趋势和前景,特别讨论了多糖在肠道微生物群的益生作用机制。在此基础上,详细介绍了本研究组对药用真菌Cs-HK1菌丝体发酵胞外多糖的益生活性和治疗功效的研究进展。

Polysaccharides represent one of the most abundant components in many food and medicinal products. In addition to their common functions as the major sources of carbohydrates and dietary fibres for human nutrition, many polysaccharides have special health benefits and notable bioactivities. Over the last 2-3 decades, there has been an exponential increase of research in bioactive natural polysaccharides, especially in China. Natural polysaccharides have been widely recognized as the most promising nutraceutical and therapeutic candidates for promotion and protection of human health and for prevention, and treatment of prevalent human diseases. This presentation is to give my views on current trends and promising opportunities in the research and development of bioactive polysaccharides, and the role of gut microbiota in the mechanisms of action for their health benefits. It will further illustrate the approaches, directions, and findings of our recent studies on the prebiotic properties and therapeutic functions of exopolysaccharides (EPS) produced by mycelial fermentation of a medicinal fungus Cs-HK1.

报告人简介:

吴建勇,毕业于加拿大皇后大学化学工程系,获得博士学位,现任香港理工大学应用生物与化学科技学系教授,Carbohydrate Polymers, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules,  Biotechnology Applied Biochemistry等期刊编委。从事多糖提取过程、结构和功能活性,作用机制与肠道菌群生态和超声化工食品加工过程方面的研究工作。发表190多篇期刊论文(145篇为SCI第一或通讯作者); Scopus论文引用7300余次, h-index 56 ,完成30多个科研项目,已经指导20 位博士生、30多位博士后研究员和访问学者。

Professor Wu Jian-Yong received his Ph.D. from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Queen's University in Canada. He is currently a professor in the Department of Applied Biological and Chemical Sciences at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, China. He serves as the editorial board member for Carbohydrate Polymers, International Journal of Biomolecules, and Biotechnology Applied Biochemistry. His research covers the extraction, structures, functional activities, and acting mechanisms on the intestinal microecology of polysaccharides, as well as ultrasonic food processing engineering. He has published more than 190 journal papers, including 145 first or corresponding authors on SCI journals, >7300 Scopus citations, h-index=56). In addition, he has completed more than 30 research projects and has supervised nearly 20 doctoral students and more than 30 postdoctoral fellows and visiting scholars.
